Hey! I’m Paula…

A woman with shoulder-length wavy brown hair smiling and looking to her left, wearing a black sleeveless top and blue jeans, standing against a plain white wall.

I’m Paula (she/her).

I’m a movement-loving, neurodivergent woman; eternally optimistic and curious about everything. I’m a nurturer who shows up with warmth, curiosity and a playful presence. I’m based in Perth, Western Australia.

I work at the intersection of Breathwork, movement, play and embodiment. Breathwork and Parkour have taught me to trust my body, lean into discomfort, and navigate whatever lies before me - in my own time, in my own way. Every breath and every movement brings me closer to understanding myself, and I love helping others find their own version of that.

My work is about inviting people into a deeper curiosity with themselves - helping them feel more at home in their bodies through breath, movement, gentle awareness, and play!

Breathwork and movement help us reconnect not only with ourselves, but with others. The more attuned we are to our internal world, the more grounded and compassionate we become in our relationships and communities. I believe healing doesn’t happen in isolation. We need connection, co-regulation and community support.

Breathwork has been a constant part of my life here in Perth for over 13 years.

It is such a wonderfully simple healing technique, and yet so powerful - it has changed my life. I would describe it as a gateway to access and work through my personal struggles, limiting beliefs, old stories, and unresolved trauma - an ongoing process. And it continues to give me the clarity and courage I need to keep showing up, moving forward and navigating my way through this life.

I tried Breathwork for the first time in 2012, and in 2015 I started my training as a Transpersonal Breathwork Practitioner. I completed over 450 hours of face-to-face training and deep healing work, and am now an accredited practitioner under the Australian Breathwork Association and a member of their professional body.

I hold a deep respect for the courage it takes to explore your inner world alongside others, and I am comfortable sitting with people through the full spectrum of human emotion.

I am continually blown away by how much intelligence our bodies hold.

My Breathwork sessions and workshops are held in Perth, North Fremantle, and online.

And then there’s Parkour...

I went to my first Parkour class with Perth Parkour in December 2016, after watching my 2 boys at classes for about 9 months, and I fell in love. The movements are reminiscent of a childhood full of running, jumping, climbing, swinging, playing. There is so much freedom, creativity, autonomy, and playfulness in Parkour, along with a very healthy dose of challenge and discomfort, that I don’t think I will ever stop.

Parkour has supported me to strengthen the relationship I have with my body, mind and soul, and trust in their capabilities. I have never felt so strong both physically and mentally.

I have worked as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer in the past, but none of that satisfied me in the way Parkour does. The clear integration of the physical and spiritual aspects of the practice, along with the parallels it has to the challenges and struggles we face in everyday life, are like nothing else I have experienced.

I’ve taught classes throughout Perth, run workshops at retreats and festivals, facilitated workshops on the East Coast, and presented internationally on neurodiversity and inclusivity in movement.

All of this experiential movement has led me into the work I’m exploring now with playful movement, play, and nervous system regulation. I’ve created The Play Reset, and I’m excited to build on this through the development of more resources under the Curious Somatics umbrella. Stay tuned.

If you are curious and inquisitive (like me), here’s a little more to know…

  • I live in Perth/Boorloo with my three kids and partner. We unschool and learn through living life.

  • My partner is a BJJ coach who gives the best hugs and makes me laugh every day.

  • I’m a big advocate for respectful and collaborative parenting and communication.

  • I’m queer and love LOVE.

  • I began my business as a single parent, navigating divorce and homeschooling.

  • I have a Bachelor of Social Science and Cert III & IV in Fitness. I have worked in Community Development, Health Promotion, Event Management and Community Recreation and Fitness.

  • I love training Parkour and playful movement with my kids; it’s one of our strongest points of connection.

  • I live in a neurodivergent household, and we embrace it fully.

  • I’ve presented in the USA on neurodiversity and movement education.

  • I love nature, play, creativity, deep conversations, and binge-watching TV series.

  • I will always do my best to create spaces rooted in compassion, curiosity, integrity and love.

  • I care deeply about accessibility and inclusion, and stand against racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, body shaming, and fat shaming.

  • I believe personal healing and collective well-being are interconnected. We all thrive when we support one another.

  • There is a lot of bs in the healing and spiritual community (which Breathwork is a part of), and I often feel like I don’t fit there. Which makes me think, if you don’t feel like you fit in that space, then you’ll probably fit well with me.

  • I try to live with an open heart and an open mind. Play and joy are important to me, and I wish for everyone to be able to find ways to access play and joy in their life. Every one of us deserves that!

  • I run Breathwork and movement sessions across Perth, Fremantle, Australia, and online - and I’m always open to collaboration.

Thank you for being here and for taking the time to get to know me. This work is deeply personal to me, and I’m grateful to walk alongside people as they reconnect with themselves in ways that feel honest, curious, and compassionate. If you feel drawn to explore breathwork, movement, or play with me, you’re always welcome to reach out whenever it feels right for you.
